NEW MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Tony F Miller, AIA LEED AP of Miller Architecture has recently gained accreditation as a LEED Accredited Professional from the US Green Building Council. His four-person, 16-year-old firm designs an eclectic mixture of commercial and institutional properties, restaurants, apartments and custom homes. Miller grew up in Alleghany County, attending Sparta Elementary and Alleghany High School. He spends a lot of weekends at his house in Laurel Springs. Miller Architecture’s most recent work in the area was the design for the conversion of the historic WPA-era Ashe County Hospital into a Boutique Inn & Restaurant. A conceptual image/logo for that project is shown in the upper left. (That project is currently on hold.) Miller Architecture has become proficient at BIM or design and production using 3D modeling software to allow clients to pre-imagine and shape their projects. A sampling of Miller Architecture’s new 3D capabilities can be seen on the “New Work in Progress” page of their website http://www.millerarchitecture.com/work-in-progress.asp
