Chamber Businesses accept gift certificates: This time of year Chamber member merchants and businesses are accepting Alleghany Chamber of Commerce gift certificates for purchases. They make a great gift for that hard-to-shop-for person on your gift list and they spend like cash. Don't delay, certificates need to be redeemed by Jan. 31, 2011. Drop by the Chamber, 58 South Main St., or call 372-5473 for information. (Pictured: Blue Ridge Electric's Joe Ward (left) receives a check from Chamber Director Bob Bamberg in exchange for Chamber gift certificates. While most Chamber Gift Certificates are redeemed at retail merchants, they can be redeemed by any Chamber member business.)

Keep voting to raise the roof: They've extended the vote through December and if you saw the roof when it collapsed last week, you know how important this it. So help the Alleghany Wellness Center with the Pepsi Raise the Roof Campaign to replace the canvas and vinyl cover over their pool with an insulated roof. To be awarded the grant, your vote is needed EVERY DAY!
Since this campaign started we've moved up from 382, to 82 and lower but we need to get into the TOP TEN! Keep it up Alleghany. Tell your friends to vote. Please follow the link below and vote each day.
