MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: The Challenge Course is a tool, a resource, to harness the power of teamwork. It is a set of activities -- challenges -- that group members work individually and together requiring cooperation, planning, trust, and communication. The experience on the course creates unique opportunities for each individual to discover insights about themselves that deepens and broadens their ability to be effective personally and professionally and work together as a team. Any group -- be it a company, family, church, married couple, sports team, or any group people who aspire to work together toward a common goal – can benefit from the challenge course. Located on Atwood Street, behind Wilkes Community College/Blue Ridge Business Development Center. Learn more. Call Challenge Course Director Glenn Wing at 336-200-0203.

Dialogue Matters offers reading/discussion group: Patrick Lencioni's book The Five Dysfunctions of a Team is the focus of this Dialogue Matters program. The first two sessions are Tuesdays, Nov. 9 and Dec. 7, 4-6 p.m. at the Blue Ridge Business Development Center. The first session is free. Subsequent sessions are $5 per session. To learn more, call Julia Simmons at 336-657-3032 or visit Dialogue Matters on the Web.

Local home builder featured in Log Cabin Homes: Local home builder Pete Pyles (Country Comfort Homes) and the Olde River Club are featured in the January issue of Log Cabin Homes in an article titled "The Undiscovered Jewel." The magazine is not expected on the newsstand until December, but we have a copy at the Chamber office. There are some great photos overlooking the New River.
