High Country Lights are on
Thanksgiving through New Year's

100,000 lights and displays synchronized to Christmas music. William Bottomley has gone all out for this year's display. You have to see it to believe it. Beginning at 6p and continuing every night through New Year's Day. From Sparta, go 5 miles south on US 21. Turn left on Glade Valley Road, 8 miles on the right.

Nikolas Restaurant in Roaring Gap is offering 10% off on holiday party bookings. Just say you read about this special offer in the Chamber Briefing. And while you are out and about choosing your tree, Rudy's Lunch Counter is open Saturday and Sundays during Choose and Cut season from 11:30a to 3p. Singing Christmas Tree at First Baptist
This annual Christmas tradition will be offered Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4-6, at 7p. No admission is charged, but reservations are required to guarantee seats. Call 336-372-8446 for information and reservations.

Sesquicentennial Celebration finale

The annual Christmas Craft Fair at the Black Exhibition Building at the County Fairgrounds (1.5 miles north Sparta on US 21) will be held Saturday, Dec. 5, from 9 to 4:30p. 336-372-5838

Innovative Occasions ribbon cutting, open house
Plan to drop in for Innovative Occassions Event Planning and Limousine Service Wednesday, Dec. 9, between 2p and 5p. The Chamber will be cutting the ribbon on their new shop at 3p. Learn about and see the resources Innovative Occasions has to make you event special. Their limo will be on display and there will be information on area resources to round out special activities. Highland Camerata Christmas Concerts
This local North Carolina-Virginia choral group will perform Schubert’s soaring “Mass in G.” The program will also include a collection of carols arranged by Stephen Paulus as well as some Old English and French carols. In addition to the usual piano accompaniment, the program will feature sections for an oboist, flutist and harpist. A separate marimba performance will be presented near intermission. Performances: Friday, Dec. 11 at 7:30p at Brush Creek Hall; Sunday, Dec. 13 at 3p at Galax Presbyterian Church; and Tuesday, Dec. 15, at 7:30p at Sparta Presbyterian Church. Click to learn more.

WCC presents 12 Keys to a Successful Event
The small-business department of Wilkes Community College is presenting a no cost class on event management Thursday, Dec. 10, 1-4p. The Event Coach presents 12 Keys to a Succussful Event, a program open to church groups, non-profits, for-profits, anyone who manages an event and wants to learn to do it better, in the Oral History Room of the Library in Alumni Hall at WCC in Wilkesboro.
